Senior Buyer, Gloucestershire, to £30k + benefits

My client designs, builds, maintains and supports mission critical communications for many of the worlds most demanding organisations. Among them governments, defence organisations, NGOs and broadcasters. Public sector and commercial. Regional, national and global. They have an immediate need for a Senior Buyer qualified to ACIPS level (CIPS Level 5) or above, or equivalent through experience. Candidates must have GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English and have a strong customer service ethos.

Also essential are: Proven vendor management experience; Experience in a technical purchasing environment; Sound knowledge of current best-practice purchasing principles and techniques; Thoroughly computer literate, particularly in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer. Evidence of an aptitude to learn other packages of similar complexity is required; Strong communication and negotiation skills; Good organisation and time management skills; Ability to work under pressure and to use own initiative; Ability and willingness to travel, occasionally, within the UK; Supervisory experience; Strong commercial awareness and understanding of the business. Desirable Qualifications / Experience: Experience of Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) software; An understanding of electronic internet-based purchasing systems
