PROJECT SURVEYOR

Main Purpose

To work effectively within the Property Department to provide planned maintenance and other property related functions inclusive of Building and Engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

? To work with staff within Housing Services to ensure the properties for which the company is responsible for are well maintained, safe and pleasant to live in.
? To deliver a defined planned works programme within budget and within a given time frame
? Locally manage the property related service contract agreements to a specific number of properties
? To conduct a Surveyor Technical Visit at agreed locations to validate stock condition information to inform future maintenance expenditure
? To annually check the condition of known asbestos containing materials and provide information to update the asbestos register
? To carry out full stock condition surveys as requested
? Ability to present technical information to tenants and residents to ensure they understand the implications of the improvements being made
? Actively control the individual budgets for planned work contracts

Requirements
? Display a capacity for making decisions based upon information available within the broad context of organisational requirements
? Demonstrate effective judgement about technical solutions related to the situation, taking into account financial constraints and the assessment of risk
? Ability to effectively communicate technical solutions to colleagues and customers
? Knowledge of the following legislation: H&S at Work Act; Building Regulations; Planning Law; Landlord & Tenant Act; Workplace Regulations; Construction Design & Management Regulations; British European Standards
? Knowledge of Procurement Methods and Contracts
