Overall Purpose of the post:
To provide impartial quantum advice in connection with construction disputes and provide assistance to the Partner who will generally be acting as the quantum expert in connection with construction disputes.
Summary of duties:
Analysis of contractors? claims and provision of sound advice as to the most likely outcome of the dispute in quantum terms.
Forensic analysis of contractors? claims to the highest standards in order to determine an accurate ascertainment of any entitlement to additional monies claimed in disputes.
Where required, the preparation of sound, well written and robust ?expert witness? reports in respect of quantum issues related to construction disputes. These reports are to be based upon a comprehensive forensic analysis of the underlying data submitted in connection with the claim.
To be able to act as the expert witness on certain projects and, if necessary, give evidence in court.
Interfacing with members of other disciplines including solicitors and barristers.
To be aware of marketing opportunities and where recognised bring to the attention of the Partners and the Business Development Team in order that they may follow up potential leads and develop the business.
To play an active part in the development of the Legal Support team.
Experience:
A minimum requirement of 5 years plus chartered status experience in cost management and preferably 1 years experience in dispute resolution.
Qualifications:
Ideally a degree in a ?built environment? subject and a relevant professional qualification MRICS or similar.
