We need an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our clients Technical Services Department based in Linford, Essex. You will be a good communicator and be capable of delivering an excellent service to our customers, who are primarily Specifiers and Builders.
You will prepare supporting material : on various aspects of masonry design and use and be prepared to undertake customer visits.
Together with an HTEC qualification, or experience in a building or design discipline, you must be able to demonstrate a high level of initiative, have good written and verbal communication skills, together with computer literacy. A flexible approach is essential, as is working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Product and technical training will be provided as necessary.

Who would be suitable - Technicians who have worked either in an office or site management role for a House builder, Architect, Surveyors, Contractors, Local Authority etc. Alternatively the applicant may already be employed in a technical role for another building materials company.
What would they need to know - Understand the construction process preferably for housing? Have an understanding of the building regulations and related standards.
Who are our customers - House builders from the National companies to small local builders, Architects and Engineers, Building Control Inspectors and Builders Merchants
What would they need to be able to do - Discuss with our customers the use and application for our range of block products. Provide written advice and relevant calculations to support Building Regulations and general use.
Is a formal qualification necessary - No, but there should to be clear evidence of a building site/trade management role or other construction related role that demonstrates that the applicant understands the building process.
