Our client is actively seeking top-flight, serious and ambitious individuals for a variety of roles.
An excellent Associate is required to attend client meetings at very early stages of projects, pitch for new business, carry out high level feasibility studies on £100m-300m+ projects. In addition there is a requirement in this role to manage a small team. Development is to Partner, subject to performance.
Your duties will include:
? To lead and deliver in all aspects of quantity surveying from inception of a project through to completion. Dealing with a number of projects at the same time, varying in complexity.
? To achieve the highest standards of professional competence and to demonstrate this ability in all dealings with clients and professional contacts, reinforcing the profile of the firm.
? To achieve the highest standards of excellence in all areas whether it is Personal and Professional, Administrative, or Technical expertise.
? To be aware of marketing opportunities and where recognised bring to the attention of Partners and the Business Development Department, in order that they may follow up potential leads enabling the development of new business.
? To maintain and develop good relationships with clients, take every opportunity to uphold and increase the profile of the firm as a provider of professional, premium quality services to the construction industry.
? To play an actual part in sector specialisms and the development of these groups.
? To assist partners in the development of the project team.
? Assist in coaching and appraising of team members of staff. To act as a supervisor for current graduates and work with them to achieving competences for the APC.
? To promote a positive attitude within the team, to motivate staff and to assist them achieve the best possible work performance.
You are likely to have a minimum of 5 years chartered status or up to 7 years equivalent relevant cost management experience. Experience can be within a consultancy, contractor or developer. However, our client will look at candidates with less experience provided this experience to date is sufficiently relevant.
You may have sports stadia experience, and will have the opportunity to be involved in some very high-profile projects.

? Able to think on feet in meetings and respond to questions with confidence. Not shy to make decisions and a ?can do? attitude
? Team player
? Willingness to travel abroad possibly once a month : Europe, US and Middle East
? Willingness to travel in the UK possibly once a week (often staying over night)
? Able to communicate well with architects and engineers and build strong working relationships
? Good business acumen and ability to notice new opportunities
? Good and clear presentation of submissions, reports and estimates
? Ability and desire to take on management responsibilities
? QS background desirable but not essential
? Stadium/sports building knowledge desirable but not essential
