Our Client is a multi- national food logistics and facilities provider.

Over the years the business has developed from food logistics to include the provision of complex service solutions. They now provide catering operations, both military feeding and commercial catering and operate commercial bakeries.

Our client is currently seeking an accomplished Bakery Business Performance Manager to work at their large bakery in Kabul, Afghanistan who is ideally able to speak at least one European language fluently in addition to English.

Reporting into the Bakery Manager the role involves measuring the overall performance of the bakery so it can produce baked products at a quality that is above the end customers standards with optimal efficiency. In addition to support the bakery management vision of 100% quality 100% of the time in all Key Result Areas. The role also involves managing a small bakery stores team.
The successful candidate will manage the bakery?s store and dispatch department. They will order raw materials and maintain SOH at a minimum level that will allow the production process to remain uninterrupted.

You will manage the Goods Inwards procedures as per the site?s HACCP plan and will measure SOH for all raw materials.

You will develop and manage bill of materials and record usage and report stock take variances.

You will implement operation KPI?s that include: Through put rates, Operations Waste,
Production out put in KG?s, Production out put in Units, Production out put in Cases (boxes).

You will also measure output against Total Head Count, Head Count less Leave and Actual Labour hours.

You will maintain product quality reports, conform with all health and safety regulations, follow the principle 100% quality 100% of the time and will enforce the company?s corporate policies.

Finally you will be an active and positive member within the Bakery Management Team.

Knowledge and Skills:

You should be an energetic and accomplished English speaking Bakery Production Manager. You should be highly self motivated with the ability to communicate and motivate a varied team. You should have experience of working in a modern bakery and your experience should be supported by vocational bakery qualifications and preferably a food safety qualification.

You should have an excellent understanding of a manufacturing environment and have experience of stock control, ordering materials, raising purchase orders etc.

Experience of working in a retail bakery operation, contracted catering services, in a military environment or for a leading international facilities management provider would be ideal, as would experience of working in post conflict areas, remote sites, on oil rigs or in other arduous environments.

Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.

You should possess excellent communication skills in English and one other European language and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.

You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.

Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be IT / PC literate.

This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished Bakery Production Manager looking for something different. Whilst our Clients operation is somewhat unique they are in it for the long term and accordingly are looking for a minimum of 12 to 18 months commitment.

The basic salary is paid in Euros and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is an annual profit share bonus payable which is also paid in Euros and tax free to an Ex-Patriate employee.

Accommodation, laundry, local transport, health insurance and meals are provided free. In addition employees have the use of a phone to call family and friends and also the internet for e-mails etc.

Western Ex-Patriate employees will receive 63 days annual leave per year and the working rota is 14 weeks on, 3.5 weeks off.

Western Ex-Patriate employees will receive 3 paid return economy flights per year and Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
