Investment Research Analyst, Southampton, Competitive salary and benefits package

This is an outstanding opportunity to join the leading UK-based multi-manager firm in this significant role, heading up a high quality team of leading manager research analysts in a sophisticated investment operation with a long track record of success in selecting ?best of breed? managers; and support from the five-strong Quant Team thereby freeing up Analysts? time to meet with and assess fund managers. Good degree, preferably in a finance-related subject. Applications are invited from graduates with professional qualifications which could include the IMC or the CFA. This should be combined with a minimum of 5 years? of experience in research and manager selection. This role as a Global/Sector Research Analyst involves leading and providing manager evaluations with responsibility for the plan structuring, research and managing a team of up to four analysts for both retail funds and institutional fund managers, for use within the companys extensive range of multi-manager products. The role is based in Southampton as part of a 21-strong Investment Research Team involved in fund manager selection. The role requires regular trips to London and elsewhere to meet with and interview fund managers that are being considered by the company. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 plus years? leadership in research and manager selection experience with respect to the equity asset class. The ideal candidate will possess: Significant expertise in Global/Sector Equities Research; A proven record in developing and leading a sophisticated investment process; and a strong awareness and depth of knowledge of leading edge investment industry trends; A need to work collaboratively with a cross section of highly experienced and motivated Investment professionals; Expected to play a key role in supporting analysts, senior management, distribution channels, marketing and sales activities; Excellent working knowledge of investment strategies and investment markets; Results oriented, self-directed and motivated with a strong orientation towards entrepreneurial activities; Ability to work collaboratively, first class interpersonal and communication skills.
