Our Client and the Role:

Part of a major USA corporation, our client?s principal businesses are container rental, trailer rental including tanker rental and rail wagon rental. It carries on business in the United Kingdom and has over 100 branch locations in 23 countries across Europe.

Headquartered in The Netherlands, it provides transportation and logistics customers funding, rental and maintenance solutions that keeps freight on the move all over Europe.

With over 68,000 units on the road, our client is clearly an industry leader that supports and operates one of the largest and most diverse trailer fleets in Europe.

The Role:

Working at a local based trailer rental branch, the Workshop Technician will maintain and repair to a measured quality standard, the trailers of the rental fleet and our client?s customers own trailers.

The Workshop Technician will maintain trailers to a high standard within company guidelines and to conform to all current legislation, highlighting any trailers which do not comply with company specifications and/or current legislation.

They will project a high customer service and corporate image at all times.

A willingness to work flexible hours is essential as the role will involve possible shift working, including weekends.

Knowledge and Skills:

Candidates should be qualified vehicle technicians, with an indentured apprenticeship or similar qualification.

A full driving licence is essential. The successful candidate will have good people skills and be able to demonstrate their ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

A willingness to work flexible hours is essential as the role will involve possible shift working, including weekends

The standard working week is 45 hours per week with some weekend working required.

The basic salary will be in a range of £18 : 20k depending upon the successful candidate?s skill set and experience. In addition to earning overtime, a bonus scheme is currently being devised. Our client also offers 22 days holiday increasing to 25 days after 4 years service, private healthcare scheme, sick pay scheme, stakeholder pension scheme, personal accident insurance and discounts on selected new cars.
