They offer a 24 hour a day, 365 day per year service for both tail lifts and shutters with teams throughout the UK offering unrivalled national coverage for service, weight testing, repairs and preventative maintenance of all equipment either on site or at one of their seven regional workshops.
The company has a successful growth and expansion programme and has recently obtained new contracts with a number of blue chip companies. With over 8,000 vehicles on maintenance contract, our Client is now seeking an Operations Team Leader to take the responsibility for the day to day management of their regional workshop based in North London.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, your main responsibility will be the day to day management of our clients regional workshop in North London whilst supporting the Operations Manager in maximising sales and profitability.
The successful candidate will supervise a team of Controllers and will be responsible for the effective allocation of all service and breakdown requests to ensure that customer requirements are satisfactorily achieved.
They will supervise and actively assist Controllers to ensure the operation is within key performance indicators and that potential sales are converted into orders.
They will be responsible for the flow of work in and out of the Workshop, ensuring maximum profit is achieved, implementing systems to ensure vehicles and trailers are retained in the workshop for the minimum amount of time.
They will also be responsible for the timely flow of contract bookings by assisting the Contract Maintenance Department to provide timely dates for bookings.
They will manage Engineers and Controllers holiday bookings ensuring that the Sales and Service Centre has sufficient engineers to run efficiently and effectively.
The job holder will act as the first point of contact for Engineers and Controllers questions and to escalate all questions that cannot be adequately answered to other departments/personnel.
They will work in conjunction with the Senior Administrator to ensure that all administrative and billing queries are resolved promptly and effectively and will have responsibility for all warranty claims.
The job holder will complete appraisals for the team of Controllers and Engineers with the Operations Manager on a timely basis.
They will be the main point of contact for the Parts Department to ensure accurate and timely flow of paperwork and they will ensure smooth operation at hand over of shift with close attention to ongoing or problematic jobs ensuring they are clearly highlighted.
Knowledge and Skills:
Ideally you will be an accomplished Service Manager / Supervisor and ideally had experience as a Mobile Service Engineer.
Experience of repairing and servicing tail lifts on commercial vehicles would be ideal
You will have proven people management skills and be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
You will have an adaptable and flexible approach and be able to plan ahead, whilst establishing short-term priorities.
You will display a can-do approach in response to changing customer and business needs.
Previous experience within a similar service / repair operational environment would be an advantage.
A current driving licence is essential.
