Our client is the market leader in the service and repair of tail lifts and door shutters for commercial vehicles and has many well-known blue chip companies among its clients.
They offer a 24 hour a day, 365 day per year service for both tail lifts and shutters with teams throughout the UK offering unrivalled national coverage for service, weight testing, repairs and preventative maintenance of all equipment either on site or at one of their seven regional workshops.

The company has a successful growth and expansion programme and has recently obtained new contracts with a number of blue chip companies. With over 5,000 vehicles on maintenance contract, our Client now wishes to recruit a Mobile Service Engineer for the Portsmouth / Southampton area.

The Role:

Working from home, you will be provided with a fully equipped workshop van and will operate in area broadly described as covering Southampton and Portsmouth.

The main responsibilities will be to work on the installation, repair and planned maintenance of tail lifts, shutter doors and door curtains on commercial vehicles.

Applicants should have a good understanding of electro-hydraulic systems and basic engineering principles and be able to demonstrate fault finding skills and be willing to work as part of an existing team.

Knowledge and Skills:

Ideally you will be an accomplished Mobile Service Engineer with experience of repairing and servicing tail lifts on commercial vehicles. Experience of being a Fork Lift Service Engineer or a background in Motor Engineering or Plant Maintenance would be a distinct advantage and some experience of auto electrics and hydraulics would be beneficial.

Your experience should ideally be supplemented by having obtained a Ratcliff Tail Lift Service and Weight Test Training Certificate 1 & 2, or equivalent to meet Service Regulations. Experience of having worked on Ratcliffe tail lifts would be an ideal background.

A current driving licence is essential.

The successful candidate will have good people skills and be able to demonstrate their
ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

A willingness to work flexible hours is essential as you will be on call at times.

Remuneration is excellent. Starting basic salary will be from £19302 pa together with
good range of benefits and successful candidates could earn £30,000 - £40,000 per
annum which includes overtime, shift allowance and call out payments.
