Our client is the market leader in the service and repair of tail lifts and door shutters for commercial vehicles and has many well-known blue chip companies among its clients.
They offer a 24 hour a day, 365 day per year service for both tail lifts and shutters with teams throughout the UK offering unrivalled national coverage for service, weight testing, repairs and preventative maintenance of all equipment either on site or at one of their seven regional workshops.
The company has a successful growth and expansion programme and has recently obtained new contracts with a number of blue chip companies. With over 8,000 vehicles on maintenance contract, our Client now wishes to recruit a Contract Operations Manager to be based at their Head Office in Northamptonshire.
Reporting into the Contract Maintenance Director the successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day operations of our clients Contract Department.
You will manage the day to day contract operations ensuring the maximum effectiveness of the booking and administrative functions. You will provide an enhanced focus on customer service support to both our clients customers and the end users, dealing with day to day issues resolving them promptly and taking steps to prevent reoccurrence.
You will plan and carry out regular visits to customers based on fleet size and customer demands and also make visits to end users.
You will develop customer relationships and manage costs to ensure the contract department meets or exceeds its budgetary targets.
You will provide customer quotations in conjunction with current matrices and will ensure rate reviews are carried out in a timely manner and agree proposals with the Contract Maintenance Director.
You will review monthly customers reports ensuring delivery to all customers and end users and you will work with the IT function to develop customer reports and KPI?s.
Finally you will liaise closely with the Contract Maintenance Director to ensure agreed actions and improvements to contract performance are being achieved.

Knowledge and Skills:
Ideally you will be an accomplished Service / Operations Manager with excellent inter-personal and customer facing skills.
Knowledge of repairing and servicing tail lifts on commercial vehicles would be ideal.
You will be commercially astute, have proven people management skills and be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
You will have an adaptable and flexible approach and be able to plan ahead, whilst establishing short-term priorities.
You will display a can-do approach in response to changing customer and business needs.
Previous experience within a similar service / repair operational environment would be an advantage.
A current driving licence is essential.
