Our Client is a subsidiary of a leading global provider of design, engineering, program management, construction management, and operations and maintenance support.
They provide facilities management support to the International Peacekeeping Force which operates in the Sinai.
They are currently seeking a Foreman for their commercial vehicle workshop based at the North Camp at El Gorah in the Sinai.
Reporting into the Vehicle Maintenance Manager you will assist them in the day to day management of the commercial vehicle workshop based at the North Camp. You will work alongside and manage a team of Vehicle Technicians most of whom are Egyptian nationals.
This is a ?hands on ?role therefore you will be performing inspection maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment. The vehicles are mainly GMAC and Volvo latest models.
You will use diagnostic procedures and electronic and other test equipment as appropriate to identify and correct equipment faults.
You will ensure that all maintenance and repair work is carried out in the most cost effective manner but also in accordance with the end clients requirements and to manufacturers specifications.
You will ensure that all labour hours are properly accounted for and also ensure that all parts, supplies, tools and equipment are correctly accounted for.
You will provide direction, supervision and technical guidance to your team of Technicians.
Finally you will ensure that all work carried out is done in accordance with health and safety and security procedures and that a high level of cleanliness is maintained in the workshop.

Knowledge and Skills:
To meet this unique challenge you will be an accomplished commercial vehicle Workshop Manager or Supervisor. Your experience should ideally be supported by an automotive engineering qualification i.e. UK City & Guilds, US Craft (Journeyman) or equivalent.
As indicated the fleet of vehicles are predominately GMC and Volvo - all latest models and therefore ideally your experience will include working on those models. In any event you will have the necessary knowledge and skills to reflect the technology utilised in these engines and be familiar with fleet management systems and standard computer software packages.
With good analytical skills, you should have an eye for detail and a desire to achieve engineering excellence.
You should be a confident communicator with the ability to supervise, motivate, coach and train a team of Egyptian nationals. You will be flexible, possess initiative and able to pick things up quickly.
Experience of working in a military environment or for an international facilities management services provider and other similar organisations would be ideal, as would experience of working in remote sites or in other arduous environments.
Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions. Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence.

The basic salary is paid in the currency of your citizenship and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.
An 18 month unaccompanied status contract is offered which includes free accommodation, laundry, local transport, life assurance, disability insurance and meals. In addition employees have the use of a phone to call family and friends and the internet for e-mails etc.
The r and r entitlement is 38 days over the 18 month contract plus 11 public holidays a year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are paid for by our client.
