Job Purpose

This position has the responsibility for checking in and closing contracts on rental vehicles, along with quality of vehicle on the ready line so that they are roadworthy and ready for customers? use in accordance within our clients Standards. The role requires working closely with the Quality Supervisor on all aspects involving fleet.

Principal Accountabilities

1. Update systems operated on location in relation to fleet as directed by the Quality Supervisor.

2. Ensure vehicles have had routine maintenance (including tyres, pressure, tread, reservoir) of rental vehicles, ensuring that the spare tyre, jack, wheel brace are all stowed away and that all equipment : radio, lights, fan, etc are working in the form of vehicle audits. Reporting any defects found.

3. Identify new damage ensuring the damage procedure is followed at all times.

4. Accurately complete the Pre Rental Inspection report on return.

5. When handing over vehicles to customers demonstrate vehicle controls and provide explanations as necessary.

6. Identify franchisee vehicles and isolate from corporate fleet.

7. Perform physical fleet report daily to identify un-roadworthy, sale and mechanical cars as directed by the Quality Supervisor.

8. Maintain work area, ensuring it is kept clean and tidy on a daily basis.

9. Ensure compliance with the company?s health and safety standards, and report any serious concerns to senior management immediately.

10. Ensure that customers? problems/concerns regarding rentals are dealt with according to company standards.

11. Maintain personal appearance and image. Observe uniform and personal appearance as laid down by company standards.

12. Perform other reasonable duties and ?special assignments? as required by the business.


Job Knowledge / Skills and Qualifications

1. Possess a current clean and valid driving licence.

2. Excellent customer service skills and experience of working in a customer service environment.

3. Good verbal and written communication skills.

4. Basic IT skills : in particular excel.

5. Ability to work to specific deadlines and organise time accordingly.

6. Ability to work outdoors irrespective of weather conditions.

7. Knowledge of car rental (desirable)

8. Experience of basic maintenance of vehicles and possess a mechanical aptitude.
