FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Management Accountant to join our Housing Services Finance department based in West Yorkshire. The main purpose of this role is to provide financial information and support for new property developments planned by Housing Services. It will also be key to consolidating the budget and forecast submissions for Housing Services and reporting in an effective way for the whole directorate. Within this role, your main responsibilities will include setting up and delivering accurate and informative monthly reporting for new property developments, including reconciling balance sheet work in progress and profit on sales, preparing budgets and forecasts for the new property developments working closely with project managers and establishing an effective way of consolidating monthly management accounts for the directorate, making best use of the systems available. You will also be expected to review and improve cost allocation models between businesses across the directorate and with other parts of the business and take responsibility for the fixed asset register for the housing portfolio including controlling work in progress and producing reports.

The successful candidate will have worked in a similar position previously and will be experienced in investment appraisal and discounted cash flow techniques and will ideally have a working knowledge of Hyperion technology. You will be a fully qualified accountant with extensive work experience; knowledge of housing and mixed tenure would be an advantage. It is essential that you are capable of producing accurate and timely management information and business case investment appraisal and cost benefit analysis. You will take on a flexible approach to your work and will be comfortable in a varied role, adapting to change quickly and professionally. It is essential that you work to the highest accuracy and have an excellent eye for detail along with good time management skills and the ability to prioritise your workload.
