Our Client is a multi- national food logistics and facilities provider providing food logistics, catering, fm and retail services across The Middle East, Africa and Near Asia.
Our client is now seeking a Senior Management Accountant for its Military Supply Division.
Reporting into the Group Controller the successful candidate will undertake a variety of financial duties which will necessitate them travelling to our clients business units located in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Some of which are in post conflict areas e.g. Afghanistan etc
The primary objectives of the role are the provision of overall financial guidance to the Business Units Management team, assuring that decisions are taken on a solid financial basis and making an active contribution to the Business Units financial success.
Also taking responsibility for the capital employed belonging to the Business Unit and to suggest improvements in a positive and pro-active manner.
The successful candidate will undertake monthly closing: review and closing of accounts, build controls as required to ensure proper capture of income and costs, review and control monthly accruals and prepayments.
They will prepare a business review and forecasts and participate in monthly business review meetings, presentation of results etc.
They will monitor the capital employed: fixed assets, inventory, prepayments, accounts receivables and also monitoring of accounts receivables: weekly review of open-items list, making sure that credit policies are adhered to; making sure that copies of debtors opening forms are obtained; regular credit meetings with the BUD (at least every 4 weeks) .
They will make regular visits to the region / the depots from which the main activity of the Business Unit is performed and preparation of follow-up reports and action lists
They will obtain the approval of monthly figures by the Business Unit Director and perform gross profit checks between the inventory system and finance system and reconcile the variances.
They will check the Business Units inventory system for open purchase orders, goods in transit, invoices, credit notes and negative stock-levels and will reconcile the balance sheet accounts relating to the specific Business Unit.
Finally they will prepare budgets, forecasts, further breakdowns of income, costs and profits by sub-units, products and/or customers and will define and monitor key drivers and KPIs for the Business Unit.

Knowledge and Skills:
The successful candidate should have a tertiary qualification in Accounting or Business Administration and be an accomplished Financial Accountant / Controller with some experience in a similar position ideally in an international fm, international product or trading company.
In addition you should have knowledge of business process re-engineering, excellent computer knowledge (ORACLE/Financials, MS Office, OLAP Database and reporting tools) and a high level of analytical skills.
You should possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally one other language and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner, work to tight deadlines and pay attention to the detail.
Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be PC / IT literate, particularly in Excel and spreadsheets.

The basic salary is paid in AED and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is an annual profit sharing bonus payable which is also paid in AED and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. A relocation / furniture allowance of $4,500 is also payable.
In addition the job holder will have a laptop and mobile phone. The holiday entitlement is 5 weeks plus public holidays.
Ex-Patriate employees will also receive 1 paid return economy flight per year and Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
