Payroll Manager- Basingstoke £32,500 - £37,500

Our client seeks an experienced Payroll Manager to join their busy team based in Basingstoke.

Reporting to the Group Personnel Director, the Payroll Manager will have overall management of the payroll function to ensure the accurate and timely payment of all staff on a monthly payroll of approximately 1900, consisting of staff and final salary based pensioners.

Key duties include:

? Payment of monthly salaries for both staff and pensioners. Paying UK National Insurance Liability for UK nationals seconded abroad.
? Checking month end journals and the salary control accounts and reconciliation of outstanding items.
? Overseeing the maintenance of records held within the Salaries Dept.
? The Submission of annual and other returns to the Inland Revenue within the due dates and dealing with enquiries from the Contribution and other government agencies.
? To action policy, implement and upgrade systems and run reports as and when required.
? The management of two staff.

Knowledge of Ceridian CPS1 would be an advantage but is not essential, as full training will be given.

The successful candidate will be working to strict deadlines and therefore needs to be organised, efficient and highly motivated with the ability to remain calm under pressure. Ideally we are looking for candidates who possess:

? a keen eye for detail
? communication skills, both written and verbal
? a strong background of managing payrolls
? an up to date knowledge of payroll legislation
? strong computer skills.
