Country Director - Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT)

Start Date: Immediate

Duration: 2 years

Allowance: £22,990 - £25,956 per annum depending on relevant experience, plus an annual cost of living allowance of £5,576, insurance cover, return flights and your own accommodation in Jerusalem.

Additional Bonus: £1,000 payable on successful completion of probationary period

Description

Our client an international health organisation is looking for the Country Director you will have the overall responsibility for the Programme, including Logistics, Finance, Security and Human Resource elements of the programme. You will also ensure that the programme objectives are met, that the programme continues to improve and play a key role in contributing to organisations development in OPT.Develop and maintain a coherent country programme strategy that contributes to global objectives. Develop and secure long-term funding for new programmes based on identified needs.

Organise and/or undertake needs assessments as necessary.Ensure that projects remain within the remit of their initial design, budget and propose and prepare any amendments when necessary. Primary responsibility to ensure that appropriate logistic, administrative and financial systems and procedures are established and/or maintained and followed in accordance with organisations guidelines.

Key Areas,

Medical doctor or qualified nurse with Master in Public Health or equivalent. Previous responsibility for health project management in emergency and transitional/development settings.

Extensive overseas management experience including strategic planning, programme management and management of budgets.

Proven experience of building and maintaining relationships with donor agencies with the aim of creating partnership and increasing funding for the country programme.

Considerable experience of working in a highly insecure environment with responsibility for security monitoring and management.
Experience of developing and maintaining relationships with other NGOs, government and other relevant stakeholders.
Experience in training, capacity building and community participation. Proven programme development and proposal writing experience
Excellent written and spoken English
