Accountant Business Unit Manager - North - Cumbria - salary £40K - £60K + Fantastic benefits package

My client is a large payroll service provider & accountancy practice based in Cumbria. Catchment areas include Carlisle, Whitehaven, Maryport & Cockermouth. Their key business is in providing payment solutions to the temporary labour force, based across the UK. They are a Personal Service Company, (PSC) dealing with 3 specific areas:

Umbrella products
CIS
Ltd Company organisation & maintenance

They currently have around 1000 customers & would like to double their presence within the market place over the coming years.
They have largely grown by referral in the past, however keen to develop the sales side, they have recently appointed a sales person, who is set to drive the business forward by dealing with recruitment agencies.

The current structure is:
Payroll Process team:- dealing with payroll & ops
Illustration & Sales:- 5 in dept dealing with contractor enquiries
Book keeping:- ½ dozen accountants

The candidate must be a charted or qualified accountant, have good business skills and be able to manage the team of accountants & ultimately manage the operation. The role will report directly to the MD.
