ASD Technical Director - Uk with National Travel

Our client a top charted accountancy firm requires an ASD Technical Director to join their team.

This is a role that requires national travel

As the ASD Technical Director your role will be as follows:

Develop, implement and maintain standard procedures that promote quality and efficiency.
Ensure that these procedures are applied consistently across all offices.
Provide technical support to all service lines, other than tax services.

Detailed responsibilities
To oversee the production and/or revision of detailed operational procedures manuals in the areas of:
Preparation of annual financial statements (either unaudited or to be audited by the client or another firm)
Preparation of regular management accounts
Other accounting services
Production of VAT returns
Payroll
Company secretarial
IT Consulting
?Growth?

As part of the above, to ensure that procedures and standard documentation are effective in promoting quality and efficiency
As part of the above, to ensure that procedures and standard documentation are used consistently across the firm/entity
To review the use of software packages within the above client service lines and to encourage consistent use of standard packages; this could include overseeing the development of in-house packages
To provide technical support to these client service lines, such as the answering of technical queries
To provide appropriate material, information and guidance on the Intranet
To drive a programme of continuous improvement in these service lines

Liaison
The role requires liaison with the following parties:
Partners and staff who provide these client services In particular, each Office Head of ASD
Management of the client
Other Heads of service lines (e.g. Growth)
To some extent, OMPs and RMPs
Internal software champions (e.g. Viztopia, SAPA)
External software providers
Audit Technical
Information Services
QAD

To be considered for this role all applicants must have the following knowledge, skills and experience
? Experience in producing and implementing procedures manuals
? Ability to persuade people to use consistent standard procedures
? Strong technical knowledge, particularly in accounts preparation and accounting standards
? Strong IT skills
? Experience and ability to drive a programme of change management and continuous improvement

This is a responsible and influential role that merits ?Director? status, on a par with Directors in other Technical divisions and in QAD
